  The Hank Wiescamp Story

The name Hank Wiescamp is easily one of the most recognized in the horse world.

Beginning as an auctioneer and a dealer in cavalry and polo horses in the mid-1920s, he built an empire around a family of horses so singular in type and coloring that they came to be known simply as “Wiescamp Horses.”

Although most often associated with his legendary lines of Palominos and Quarter Horses, Wiescamp founded equally well-known families of Paint Horses and Appaloosas. As a result of the literally thousands of horses he directly contributed to all four of the major western horse registries, his positive and far-reaching impact is indisputable. He is the only man inducted into three breed association halls of fame: American Quarter Horse Association; Appaloosa Horse Club; and Palomino Breeders of America.

Here is Hank Wiescamp’s only authorized biography—complete with the colorful stories, the pedigrees, the show and race records and the photographs that chronicle 70 years of horse breeding, showing, and selling activity.

The Hank Wiescamp Story, as told by noted equine historian Frank Holmes, is a wide-ranging, timeless account of one of the most storied horse breeders of all time.

Softbound, 11 x 8 inches, 208 pages that include 269 black-and-white photos.
