About the Author

Frank Holmes has been penning horse-related feature articles and historical books for more than 35 years. A former staff writer for Western Horseman magazine in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Frank was initially brought on board to contribute to the immensely popular Legends book series, he also authored The Hank Wiescamp Story in 1996.

From mid-1996 through late 2000, Frank was the award-winning Features Editor of The Paint Horse Journal in Fort Worth, Texas.

After leaving the Journal he returned to Colorado, to devote his full efforts to the writing of historical books designed to capture the West's rich history and pass it on in a way that both enlightens and entertains.

The hallmark characteristics of Frank's writing style has been, and will continue to be, his ability to put horse history in the proper perspective, in a style that literally makes it come alive. It is a formula that has proven successful in the past, and that will continue to do so for years to come.
